WHY Bicycling is Good for You
We all know
that bicycling is a good way to remain fit, but I feel it’s much more than
that. Since my childhood I had used it as a tool to explore the world around me
with my friends and I am sure it would have been same for you all. So let’s
talk about the benefits of bicycling and know why I am a big fan of it
Benefit No -1 – Improves bonding in Family & helps in socializing
There is a
saying that “Family who eats together lives together”. Same applies for
bicycling as it helps in bonding among family members of different age group. Grownups
and kids can own their separate bicycles or you can have tandem bike for entire
family ride. You all can go for fun filled ride across the streets, by this
kids will be able to explore their neighborhood and can socialize with others. By
this we can involve our kids in physical activity and can keep them away from electronic
gadgets, which is quite difficult in today’s time. So keep pedaling and socialize.
Studies has
shown that people who are regular in bicycling are less prone to have anxiety
and stress in their life. Studies shows bicycling helps in balancing adrenaline
and cortisol levels in body and it also helps in improving focusing on things. So keep pedaling for stress free life.
Benefit No – 3 – Improve Mood of riders
Bicycling helps
in boosting feel good hormones, endorphins. Also outdoor environment provides
you with fresh breeze and good sunlight. This will bring smile on your face
even after you finish your bicycling. So keep pedaling for a good smile.

have shown that people who do regular bicycling look much younger. Let’s explain
the science behind it. Regular cycling leads to an increased circulation which
helps your body optimise collagen production and deliver nutrients to skin
cells more effectively. This makes your skin heal faster after an injury and
gives the skin a fresh, healthy look, making you look younger. So keep
pedaling and look young.

People who
are travel on bicycle through cities can avoid standing in traffic for hours. Not
only you can save your time by gliding through the traffic, but you can also
save money by not spending on automobiles and gasoline. Also it does have lower
maintenance cost as compared to automobiles. With a healthy life style you can
save huge amount on medical treatment. So keep pedaling and save money.
Benefit No 6 – Weight loss
Studies have shown the people who are cycling for
60 minutes daily will have a weight reduction of 11 kg in a year. Breathing is
regulated but your joints won’t suffer as much because the impact pressures are
much lower with respect to running. Also it doesn’t let you go out of breath. It
also provides good body structure with enhanced muscles and flexibility. Also it’s
better than doing dieting where you won’t be able to enjoy your tasty foods. So
keep pedaling and enjoy your foods with reduced weight.
Benefit No 7 – Improve Heart Health
Bicycling
helps in improving heart muscles, as it doesn’t put load on your heart and it improves
in cardio vascular function. You will have lower risk of heart attack, high BP
and can save on medication. So keep pedaling and improve your heart.
Benefit No 8 – Reduces Green House Gasses
We all are
aware that as carbon emissions and increasing our planets temperature is
increasing and its threatening lives of many species across the world. Bicycling
does have immense impact on nature. Reduces greenhouse gas emission to a very
large extend. Material used in making bicycle is only 5% of material used in
cars, also the regular emissions through cars are not sustainable for our
planet. Governments across the globe are promoting bicyclers by making separate
cycling lanes, providing preference to cyclers on road in traffic situation, also
by increasing tax rates on carbon emitting vehicles. Private & government organizations should
promote short distance commuting through bicycle and should incentivize people
for using it. So keep pedaling and save your planet
Benefit No 9 – Improves sleep time
Research
has shown that people with sedentary insomnia sufferers who do daily bicycling
for 30 minutes had a positive impact. These people fall asleep faster and their
sleeping time increased by an hour. So keep pedaling for good sleep
Benefit No 10 – Reduces risk of Cancer
A Swedish researchers has shown that people
who do regular bicycling have 34% less chances to get cancer. Also studies has
shown that people who do bicycling regular have more chances to recover from
cancer by 33%. So keep pedaling and fight cancer.
