Your Increased Body Weight - Who is the Culprit You or Your Metabolism
What is metabolism?
We might
have seen people who eats a lot and still doesn’t have any weight gain for
months (Friends and family members do suggest them medicines for weight gain). On
the contrary we also might have seen people who eat too less but gains weight
month on month (Friends and family members do suggest them medicines for weight
loss and preach them about benefit of workout). You have understood it right. Yes
that’s body metabolism who is the culprit behind such conditions. In simple
words, it’s a body mechanism by which our body turns calories into energy. A good
metabolism allows you to eat all kind of high cholesterol foods like cheese
burst pizza or double cheese burger at your favorite QSR and you won’t allow
you to gain weight. Whereas slow metabolism could lead to excessive weight gain
without much intake of calories or fat. So we will be discussing today about
slow metabolism, which is leading to many dieses.
Reasons for Slow Metabolism?
- 1. Sedentary lifestyle – Due to start
of 3rd wave of COVID-19 people are bound to WFH which is leading to
a sedentary life, where people have the tendency to walk only in between
bedroom to living room. This can seriously affect the metabolic rate and health.
Although early in the morning people can go for jogging and could do cycling to utilize these
accumulated calories. Doing these 2 things are not possible for everyone as
this requires serious commitment to oneself for getting up early in morning.
- 2. Not getting enough sleep –
Professionals who are working across different time zones and people who are
used to do party till late night are facing this kind of challenge. Research has
shown that people with improper sleep are bound to have serious medical issues.
Studies have shown that this can lower down your metabolic rate by 8%.
- 3. High sugar containing drinks – Kids and
adults who are used to consume too much of cold drinks can have problems
related to accumulated calories in their body. This can increase their sugar
levels, weight increase and can slow metabolism rate.
- 4. Lowering Protein intake – High intake of carbs & fats in comparison to protein can lower down your thermic effect of food. This will lead to accumulation of fat in your body, as lower thermic effect will not allow your body to digest the stuff fast. Studies have shown that people should atleast 1.0 gram of protein per kg of their body to prevent their metabolism from slowing during and after weight loss
- 5. Ageing - As we get old our body metabolism reduces. We
lose muscle tissue as we get old. And we all know that muscles burn more
calories with respect to fat. More of strength training is recommended for reducing the tissue
loss.
- 6. Genes – your genes are one of the
reason for your slow metabolism. You can easily identify that by seeing your
parents and siblings health. If you don’t work out than you will gain weight
- 7. Lack of water intake – studies have shown that lower water intake will lower your metabolism. So always keep a track of your hydration. People can simple bottles with water intake mentioned on it
- 8. Stress – When people are stressed
out, they have hormonal imbalance which leads to slow metabolism. Perform deep
breathing and listen relaxing music.
Still if the problem of slow metabolism doesn’t get resolved, than there is a product which has helped more than 2,00,000 people to improve their metabolism and make them fit. I am sure you can also get benefited from it. Will surely write about it in my upcoming blogs.
